Free options#

A number of free cloud computing resources are available to staff and students members of the University of Leeds.

Google Cloud Platform (GCP)#

GCP offers free cloud credits with two programs:

  • Research Credits - up to $5,000

    • Best used for Individual research projects.

    • Requires a researcher to complete an application (30 minutes). An application is reviewed within 2-6 weeks.

    • Once issued, credits must be redeemed within 60 days and expire within twelve months.

Azure#

Azure offers free cloud resources for students

  • Azure for Students - $100 per student (renews annually)

  • Best used for individual small-scale research and prototyping
